Bowling season ends after challenging season.

Due to the small bowling team and lack of members’ bowling experience, the team struggled to compete this year.

“With the low number of people on our team and only two with prior bowling experience we weren’t able to win a meet, but we did come close in a couple,” senior Nathan Hess said.

On March 1, the team competed in a Regional meet. Although everyone did well individually, the team was unable to come out with a win.

“It didn’t go as well as we had originally planned. One of the top bowlers ended up getting injured right before Regionals,” Hess said. “It could have gone better, but in the end everyone bowled over their average.”

The team was unable to prepare for the Regional meet at its location, but managed to prepare at their regular location.

“I would have liked to be able to practice at the Regional location, but instead we just had our normal practices and tried to work on spares and hitting our mark,” Hess said.

Although the team was unsuccessful overall this season, Hess managed to meet his goal of improving his personal average.

“I wanted to increase my season average from last year, and I raised it from 186 to around 197,” Hess said.
